Recipes are being collected for our Lodge Cookbook! If everyone submits two recipes, we would would have them available in time for the festival.  Melissa Velleca is chairing the cookbook.  You can contact Neil or Sue for more info.

August 22 & 23 on the North Haven Green!  Jerry Lewis MDA Labor Day Telethon Join the fun and support a great cause! Our Lodge always has a table and we always have room for more! Social Committee Ideas Hi All As winter is coming to an end and spring is on the horizon, we look forward to a wonderful year both on the Green in August and for our Lodge the next few months and into the future. We have many events planned already, Sally and her committee work very hard to keep our social lives booming so please do your best to support as many of the events as you can.    We also have room to hold more events, I have some ideas but more importantly I would like to hear your Ideas. Remember weather you are just getting your first Newsletter or you have been a member for 4 years, we welcome you and your ideas. North Haven Sons & Daughters of Italy Lodge #2805 was established in the State of Connecticut on January 11, 2004.  Order Sons of Italy in America (OSIA) have a total of 17 filial lodges in the state, and hundreds more throughout the United States and Canada with over 600,000 family members.  Our lodge has already grown to over 275 members!

The OSIA promotes the Italian American culture and heritage, by sponsoring local charities and social events, fighting stereotyping in the media, providing college scholarship opportunities at the local, state and national level, as well as many other activities within each lodge.  The organization is involved in many charitable organizations through the OSIA Foundation which contributes hundreds of thousands of dollars each year to Cooley’s Anemia, Coaches for Cancer, and Alzheimer’s medical research.

The filial lodges are made up of a variety of people, MEN & WOMEN.  Of course the majority of the members are of Italian Heritage or those lucky enough to be married to an Italian American.  However, there are many social members of all nationalities. 

One of the fundamental ideals of the Order Sons of Italy in America is the celebration and sharing of our rich cultural heritage.  We believe in the North Haven Sons & Daughters of Italy Lodge #2805 that the best way to proclaim this is by our active and charitable involvement in our local communities.  To give you a brief understanding of what we wish to accomplish as a lodge I have provided the Guiding Principals that our lodge has adopted.  We hope you enjoy your visit to our web site, and if you are interested in joining us as a member or guest at an upcoming meeting contact our membership chairperson.
